Biography

Zami Ismail (20 November 1944 – 19 June 2011) is a Malaysian actor and comedian. He would always be remembered for his role in the television sitcom series Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu as Pak Uda as well as Salam Pantai Timur series. Throughout his career span, he has acted more than 20 films. He also won for the Best Actor Comedian Award in the 9th Malaysian Film Festival(FFM) 1991 through his film Mat Som. He also worked with Mamat Khalid to played a role as Pak Abu in Kampung Pisang film series that brought recognition himself in public. He died on 19 June 2011 at the National Heart Institute, Kuala Lumpur due to heart failure at the age of 66. In 2008, he was admitted at Selayang Hospital Cardiac Care Unit( (CCU) after falling unconscious due to heavy breathing. He was buried at his hometown in Tapah Road,Perak, Malaysia.
