Dick's short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale", and by Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, with a visual style heavily influenced by the film Blade Runner, itself very loosely based on the same novel. However, other than the Rekall company and the concept of virtual vacations, the series shares no major plot points or characters with any of these works. Philip K. Dick is not credited in any way on the series main or end titles. The series was filmed in Toronto. It was a Canadian/German co-production. Only one season, consisting of 22 episodes, was produced.

It also abandoned the basic open-ended writing style used on all other daytime dramas in December 2000, instead creating thirteen-week story arcs. This type of storytelling is a staple of Latin telenovelas. It also allowed the cast, crew, and writing staff to only work six months out of the year.
Two is an American drama series which aired from September 1996 to June 1997. It featured Michael Easton as Gus McClain, a man framed for the murder of his wife by his twin brother Booth Hubbard. Hubbard, whose existence had previously been unknown to McClain, committed several murders while assuming McClain's identity, leaving Gus on the run from the FBI. The primary FBI investigator in the case was Terry Carter, whose partner was a victim of Hubbard. It featured Andrew Sikes as a recurring character trying to help McClain. Due to low ratings, the show was canceled after one year.
