In the third film of the successful series, Jan Fedder is back as a Pastor Book with body and soul. To look after human destinies in St. Pauli, he sees as his life's task, no matter what milieu they come from or what confession they belong. The fallen and stranded people challenge him this time especially.
Christmas Eve at the 14th precinct. While his colleagues go on duty, Dirk Matthies takes off. He has logged off from everyone to escape the Christmas hustle and bustle and enjoy a cozy solo evening on board his ship in peace and quiet. But then something bangs on the ship's planks which, on closer inspection, turns out to be what Dirk least wanted to see that evening: Santa Claus himself is there - and looks quite confused. After a moment's hesitation, Dirk agrees to drive the chaotic old man to his first job.
After being hit on the head, the eccentric gourmet critic, Gilles "Günni" Demmonget, loses both his sense of taste and smell, and now, of all times, he is due to appear in a public cooking duel with his wild young competitor, Paul Scheffke. Hoping for a speedy recovery, Gilles moves into a fasting hotel on the island of Sylt for a while, recommended to him by his friend Risto. The isolation and peace, combined with doing without solid food is supposed to sharpen his senses and help them return completely. On the island, he not only experiences a turbulent reunion with fasting instructor Marit Hansen - but his desirous ex-lover Diana moves into the adjacent room as well.
Pit and Susi - the couple from the "dream car" - struggle with the small and big problems at work and in their relationship. Pit is on the rise: in his mid-20s, he is already on the management floor of a large Munich advertising agency and always on duty. He lives with Susi in a spacious apartment. Among other status symbols, they can afford an expensive car, the trendy restaurants and clothes from the trendy stores - all well and good. But Susi is not really happy - she senses the dwindling sensitivity of their relationship, in which only superficial outward appearances take center stage. The consequence is inevitable: Susi breaks away and travels into the lonely, but as we know - not without danger - world of the mountains... And Pit? Now he seems to realize how important Susi is to him...
Pit is in his early 20s and meets the attractive singer Caro. He wants to impress her but lacks the resources. He comes up with the idea to saw off the roof of his car and turn it into a snappy convertible.
