Misa Kuroi is a good witch, but wherever she goes, evil follows. When a dying girl appears out of nowhere shouting Misa's name, our heroine goes to work. Following the clues, Misa transfers to the prestigious Saint Salem School for Girls and joins the Drama Club. Soon all the girls depart for a mysterious Drama Camp, deep in the woods.

After seeing her husband off to work, the young author identified only as Yoshiko sets off to read the large collection of letters she received from other young authors. These are often letters containing samples of their work for critique. One large envelope contains a letter. The letter-writer does not provide his name. The letter is a confession of crimes. The letter-writer has no family or friends, and claims to be "ugly beyond description". He is a chair maker and loves his work and all the chairs he creates, even going so far as to claim some sort of intangible connection to his work.

Kanako (Yasuko Sawaguchi) looks through the viewfinder of a second-hand camera she bought and sees a boy with a look of hatred on his face staring back at her. When she looks up, the boy is gone, and when she looks through the viewfinder again, she sees the boy staring back at her. Kanako is now haunted by the spirit of the boy and the adults who are close to him....
The film begins with some Polaroids of a young boy and a young girl. A female voice over tells us who these people are. They are brother and sister, she is seven and he is eight. She goes on to say that when she was seven and he was eight, she told her brother that she would marry him.
